Born: Elverum, February 26. 1983.
- Vocals, Guitars
Morten on his background:
My father played a lot of dusty, old vinyl records around the house when I grew up. I really had no choice - I HAD to become fond of rock'n roll. Can't say I blame him though! Got my first guitar for christmas at the age of eleven, and was instantly hooked. Took guitar lessons for three years in Elverum at a young age. Started my first band in 1995 - with Bjarne as the drummer (been playing with him ever since). Played in several punk rock bands in the early days. "Deng" and "Gaffeltruck", for instance. Real class acts... Started singing in 1998, when Jaqueline was formed.
Morten on his influences:
I like rock'n roll and country music. On the "rock" side of the fence, a lot of classic stuff, starting with The Million Dollar Quartet (look it up), The Band, Stones, Aerosmith, The Who, Purple, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Quo and Creedence stand out quite clearly. On the country side, I should mention Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Hank Williams, Willie, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Brad Paisley, Gillian Welch and Hellbillies. Tom Waits and Dylan are also briiliant.
Morten on gear:
I prefer Gibson ES 137 guitars and Ampeg VT 22 amps (Occasionly also a Fender Tele and an Orange AD 140 TC).
Morten on Jaqueline:
I like to think of Jaqueline as one of those old, black, big-assed, steam locomotives. The kind of train you would love to travel across the world in. It's loud and proud, a real powerhouse - heavy as shit. Nevertheless, it's a classy, fucking timeless vessel! How about that? |

Born: Kirkenes, June 7. 1984.
- Vocals, Fender Bass, guitars, keys.
Marius on his background:
I became a huge fan of the British 60's pop-scene at very young age. The Beatles and The Kinks practically lived in the stereo speakers at the Drogsås Hagen residence, when I grew up. As a direct result of that, I guess I developed an enthusiasm and sense for good melodies, hooks and vocal harmonies. From the age of eleven to thirteen, I would sit in my room, playing the guitar for hours and hours. Then Morten, Bjarne and Tord came along, and we started a band. (Jaqueline was later founded as a threepiece in 1998).
Marius on his influences:
Man, the playlist on my phone changes ALL the time. These deserve a little applause though (in no specific order): The Beatles, Brian Wilson (+ The Beach Boys), Steve Earle, Gillian Welch, Sufjan Stevens, Bright Eyes, Patrick Wolf, Sigur Rós, Lars Lillo-Stenberg, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Beck, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Nirvana, Robert Johnson, Motorpsycho, The Rolling Stones... In fact, this is just silly - there are just too many to mention!
Marius on gear:
I love the sound of tubes working hard, therefore I tend to keep my signal chain as clean as possible - in order for the sweet-sounding tubes to really shine through. As far as amps go, Ampeg does the trick for me. Old ones, as well as new ones. I love Fender basses and guitars - both the sound of 'em, the size, and of course the look. And by the way, one day I WILL be the lucky owner of a Mellotron :-) He he.
Marius on Jaqueline:
Jaqueline is developing into a better band for each passing day. We, as musicians, as well. It's an honour to be a part of this musical adventure! |
